About Us

Our Story

Holistic Education Advocating Leadership (HEAL) is a non-profit, 501(c)3 initiative which focuses on the rape epidemic and other forms of sexual assault in Liberia. Sadly, it is estimated that there are three cases of child rape reported daily in Liberia. The country does not have adequate resources available to seek justice for these children; creating communities where rapists walk freely, and victims are too afraid to speak up. HEAL has been working in Liberia and in the United States to create awareness, educate the public and advocate for victims of sexual assault.

Vision

HEAL’s vision is a world in which education will be used as a tool to empower children. Through positive life experiences designed to inspire them, children will become masters of their destiny and advocates for humanitarian needs.

Mission

HEAL’s mission is to raise awareness about the alarming high number of rape against children in Liberia and communities alike. We also strive to seek justice for victims of sexual assault by advocating for victims of rape; educating such communities on the long and short term effects of rape and sexual assault; collaborating with other organization to have DNA forensics accessible for rape cases in Liberia; and working with communities to target social and cultural norms that contribute to the problem.
