HEAL’s Week of Programs aims to raise awareness, empower communities, and provide resources to combat sexual assault. The week will kick off on April 2nd, coinciding with World Sexual Assault Awareness Day, with a walk featuring pupils from God of Mercy School in Airfield, and other school pupils from the Wroto town community.

The schedule of events for HEAL’s Week of Programs 2024 includes:

World Sexual Assault Awareness Day Walk And Community Day: On April 2nd, HEAL will lead a walk for the World Sexual Awareness Day for awareness about sexual assault, starting with pupils from God of Mercy School in Sinkor and extending to other school pupils in the Wroto community. The walk aims to highlight the importance of solidarity and collective action in addressing sexual assault.

Awareness for Safe and Unsafe Touch: HEAL will host an awareness session to educate children and caregivers about safe and unsafe touch. Through age-appropriate activities and discussions, participants will learn to identify boundaries, assert their rights, and seek help if needed.

HEAL’s Week of Programs represents a collective effort to address the pervasive issue of sexual assault in Liberia and create a safer, more supportive environment for all. By engaging stakeholders across sectors and empowering communities with knowledge and resources, HEAL is committed to fostering meaningful change and advocating for a future free from sexual violence.
